Cara Lytwyn, originally from Flin Flon, Manitoba, is the 2008 winner of Winnipeg’s Funniest Person with a Day Job, an annual stand-up comedy contest held at Rumor’s Comedy Club and is the first winner of Winnipeg’s Funniest Comic competition (2009) sponsored by the Winnipeg Free Press and Hot 103. She is the first and only female comedian to win either title. Armed with her quick wit and sassy self-deprecation, Lytwyn performs with a fresh attitude and dynamic energy. She has been reviewed as “Furiously Funny” by UMFM Radio.

In 2007, Lytwyn produced her own stand-up comedy showcase featured in the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. In 2010, she was a featured performer in the Winnipeg Fringe Festival’s Tazzy’s Angels. For the last three years, she has been invited to perform in the celebrated Winnipeg show: Girls! Girls! Girls!, featuring a variety of female artists.

Lytwyn performs stand-up comedy all over the city of Winnipeg and for three years, she was a featured cast member of the popular alternative comedy show Comedy Loser. This year she was a guest speaker for the fourth consecutive year for the Red River College Comedy Writing Class.

Cara was selected to perform in the 2010 Just for Laughs Showcase (a night dedicated to presenting the best in Winnipeg Comedy to a producer from JFL Montreal) at the Kingshead Pub, in Winnipeg and she performed in the 2010 CBC Winnipeg Comedy Festival in the Shock of the New Show hosted by Jon Dore.
